The
3 G Link founders, Mr Melvin Law, Mr Daniel Lim, and Mr Peter Tan,
all rose through the rank and file in the shipping industry and
each are versatile in both air and sea freight operations. Through
their vast and uniquely different experiences in the industry, they
have complimented very well to each other, and this has resulted
in the strong growth curve we see today in G Link.
Mr
Melvin Law - Joined the shipping industry in 1989. He started
as a marketing officer in a freight forwarding company, and progressed
on to carrier sales while concentrating in the US trade. He later
went back to the forwarding industry in 1991 as an office manager,
handling both sales and operations. His next step forward was made
in 1994 which led to the creation of G Link Express Logistics (Singapore)
Pte Ltd.
Mr
Daniel Lim - Joined the shipping industry in 1990 and started
of as a marketing officer in a freight forwarding company, he later
progressed to sales manager in the same company. He started G Link
Express Logistics (Singapore) Pte Ltd in 1994 and is the only full-fledged
forwarder among the 03 founders.
Mr
Peter Tan - Joined the industry in 1987 and started as a cargo
hand in the airfreight industry. He later progressed to becoming
an indoor operations personnel a year later. He then joined the
shipping line as a sales personnel in 1990and concentrated in the
Australian trade sales. He started his own company in 1993 with
main focus in the South pacific islands and Australia. He finally
joined G Link Express Logistics (Singapore) Pte Ltd 1995.

The headquarters, G Link Express Logistics (Singapore) Pte
Ltd, is located in the world's busiest port, Singapore. With
the rapid expansion of the company, there was a need to have
a central governing body to move the group of companies in
the same direction. The idea of having a regional headquarters
was mooted in 1999 but it did not take off till June 2000.
During our group annual meeting, the idea of the regional
headquarters was presented to all station directors, and a
trial team of RHQ members was selected with Mr. David Hia
being selected as the chairman of the regional headquarters.
After a period of trial operations, the Regional Headquarters
was officially put in place in Feb 2001. The members of the
RHQ as follows:

The
RHQ will report to the Group Chairman - Mr Melvin Law, on matters
regarding development of the group of companies. The RHQ's functions
are as follows:

Development of Group identity.

Sourcing and establishing new overseas agents and partners.

Co-ordination of group trade development and projects.

Provide overseas partners with a single entry point of communication
for group-related matters.

Arbitrator for any financial dispute between group of companies
and overseas matters.

Entry point for any complaints or compliments from overseas partners.
- A
direct line for business co-operation with the G Link Group of
Companies.
